Default I need a good 55 fire ele/monk build please

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me with finding a good 55 fire ele/monk build for nightfall only (don't have factions or eye of the north etc.)

I currently have these skills:

fire magic: (10 spells)

conjure flame
fire attunement
fire storm
fireball
flame djinn's haste
flare
glowing gaze
inferno
liquid flame
meteor

energy storage: (4 spells)

aura of restoration
elemental attunement - elite
glyph of restoration
master of magic - elite

healing prayers: (3 spells)

healing breeze
mending
orison of healing

protection prayers: (2 spells)

protective spirit
reversal of fortune

I want an awesome fire ele/monk that can do mass damage, without getting hit, but keep energy full to the brim at the same time.

I'm also currently at 105 health, don't know how to get down to 55 and I don't know any good locations to solo at, i've looked at guides but i'm still fairly new at this farming stuff so if there's a spot in particular that's great for elementalist soloers then that'd be awesome!

Also i'm wanting to go into this for profit, not really for exp gain :P so preferably an area with monsters that aren't too hard but give great drops when soloing :P

Any feedback would be awesome ^_^ many many thanks in advance!

To get to 55 health you need the -50hp Grim Cesta from the quest Cities of Ascalon. It is a quest reward exclusive to that quest. You can also buy it from other players, it is sold frequently for the obvious reason that every 55 needs one.

1. I would advise getting all campaigns if you plan to farm very effectively.
2. Eles are not really meant to 55.
3. The Energy management skills available to 55s are in other campaigns.
4. For good areas go check where a 55 would normally farm. www.pvxwiki.com can help, it may also provide some effective farming builds.
5.Spamming fire skills is not a terribly effective way of killing mobs when soloing

Awesome ty guys! ima go check it out right now!

I've done some experimenting, also bought myself a fire wand 11 - 22 damage for 5k =l but I get a lil more energy from weilding the focus item aswell so it's all good.

You're right, I tried yesterday, managed to get a cracked mesa down to half hp and only slightly damage the other 2 monsters but it was useless lol, ele's do mass damage but even with lots of energy you have to have an energy tanker and unless I have all the GW games to do that it won't happen =(

ATM i'm getting owned by the level 24+ groups because I can't really use short monk enchants because I use master of magic which is a must for my energy recovery, so i've gone with necromancy and the spell "demonic flesh" as master of magic will bring my fire skill up to level 12 anyway, I have gotten my blood magic level up to 10 which allows me to get +176 max health for 54 seconds! So I'll have 621 health, 88 energy and fast energy recovery :P I just have to cast the necro spell first so it doesn't interfere with master of magic but it's easy enough =p

Thank you guys so much! ima get to work on it now and do some more research on 55 necro/monk builds ^_^

No, eles don't do mass damage. Necroes and mesmers, warriors and rangers with [Splinter Weapon] do massive damage.

cap shield of judgement as elite
take that as damage dealer, and you are done.
combine it with glyph of swiftness to use it more, can i now have cookie

Thanks guys =D i've found a build on youtube and modified it a little, it's an earth ele/mesmer build and it does pretty good in some farming cases and in general just versing monsters. (only downside is you can only face monsters that do 33 damage or less so farming spots are limited, also you can't farm monsters that hex etc.)


Aura of Restoration (heals you whenever you cast a spell)

Glyph of Elemental Power (boosts ele skills by +2 for 10 spells)

Stoneflesh Aura (reduces damage you take by 33)

Arcane Echo (mimics a spell/skill in your bar for 20 seconds)

Sandstorm (does 31 earth damage a second for 10 seconds in that foes location. Does an extra 31 damage if they're attacking which they always are lol)

Aftershock (does 105 earth damage to adjacent foes. Deals 72 more damage if they're knocked down)


I do them in that order and basically I get healed whenever I cast a spell, for my next 10 spells my earth attributes boosted by 2, I only get hit if the damage is more than 33, I then use Arcane Echo to mimic the Sandstorm spell, then I use both of them on the monsters so that every second (for 10 seconds) each monster that is adjacent to me and attacking me, gets hit 124 damage per second (all up = 1,240 damage per monster attacking me in adjacent area) it annihilates them XD if they run but are still low on health that's what Aftershock is for, it does 105 earth damage to adjacent foes.

But yea it's awesome because the arcane echo spell mimics a skill/spell in your bar for 20 seconds AND it has no attribute so you don't need to spend any of your precious points on mesmer skills!

I've also set it up so that I have 16 earth magic and 15 energy storage:

12 earth magic: +3 (rune of superior earth magic) +1 (items attribute)
12 energy storage: +3 (rune of superior energy storage)

To give me more time for the Stoneflesh Aura spell I use glyph of elemental power so that my earth magic becomes level 18 for my next 10 spells - this is so that by the time it runs out I am not vulnerable to full on attacks because of its 2 second cast time, and can immediately cast it in time. Works best if you have inscriptions that give you longer enchantment times

But yeah it's working nice for me, idk if anyone else wants to use that build too but it helps if you're confused on what skills would work. At the mo I have at least 2 monks so they can heal me if something goes wrong and Zhed Shadowhoof has the same skills as I do now so it's double ownage :P

O ya and sometimes I use the Ward against melee spell (50% chance to block enemy attacks) so that reduces your chances of getting hit also but it does cost 15 energy.
